Joe Rogan’s low IQ Talmudic take

Joe Rogan and MMA fighter Sean Sharaf just spent a podcast segment regurgitating low IQ antisemitic talking points they found on the internet. Let’s break down the insane claims made by these two Dunning-Krueger meatheads.

The Claims

  1. The Talmud says non-Jews are “goyim cattle”
  2. The Talmud says Jesus is boiling in excrement in hell
  3. Jews teach their children they’re better than non-Jews

The Fact Check

Claim 1: The Talmud says non-Jews are “goyim cattle”

Verdict: Fabrication

In Hebrew, goy means “nation” and its plural Goyim means “nations”. This is the standard Biblical term for non-Jews. It is not derogatory by origin. The “cattle” association with the term stems from antisemitic literature, not the Talmud. This association is a deliberate distortion of Keritot 6b passage, which is a legal discussion in the Talmud about ritual purity and the oil of anointing. The passage says pouring oil on cattle or vessels makes one not guilty; pouring it on gentiles or the dead, also makes one not guilty. It is a comparison of legal categories, not a statement about the humanity of non-Jews.

Claim 2: The Talmud says Jesus is boiling in excrement in hell

Verdict: Misrepresentation

The Talmud’s tractate Gittin 56b-57a does describe a figure named Yeshu being punished in “boiling excrement” for mocking the Sages. But the identity of this Yeshu is disputed by scholars who have no consensus on whether it refers to Jesus of Nazareth, a different individual, or is simply a literary device. The claim that the Talmud “teaches” this as doctrine, is completely false. The Talmud simply records debates and narratives. It is not a catechism.

As for the punishment of “boiling in excrement”, it applies to anyone, Jew or non-Jew. who mocks the words of the Sages. It is not a Jesus-specific punishment. It is a general principle about disrespecting rabbinic authority.

Claim 3: Israelis teach their children they’re better than non-Jews

Verdict: Generalization

The Jewish concept of being “chosen” is not about privilege, it is about obligation. It means being bound to a covenant of ethical responsibility, not being superior. The Torah itself says: “The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples” (Deuteronomy 7:7). The text explicitly rejects the idea that chosenness is about superiority.

It should be noted that there is a small ultra-Orthodox Jewish minority that emphasizes separatist theology. Separatist, not supremacist, because there is a difference between separatism and supremacism. Otherwise the claim that Jews collectively teach their children supremacism is a gross antisemitic caricature – that is clearly in contradiction with the fact that Israel’s state education system includes Arab schools, bilingual programs, and mandatory civics.

The Rogan Problem

While Sean Sharaf is just a low IQ bonehead who makes a living by being punched in the face – and is definitely not a scholar of rabbinic literature, Joe Rogan’s podcast is a massive, hyper-influential platform that reaches millions of people. Its ability to rapidly change the zeitgeist cannot be overstated. The Trump-Vance 2024 Presidential Elections campaign knew this and harnessed the platform with its affiliated network of podcasters, comedians, YouTubers and influencers, to return Trump to the White House.

So when Rogan and Sharaf sit down and casually claim the Talmud teaches that non-Jews are cattle and Jesus is boiling in excrement, they are not “just asking questions” or “having a chat”. They are broadcasting incendiary antisemitic tropes to a massive, malleable audience that trusts them.

The Solution

A lie repeated on a popular, trusted podcast, is still a lie. Don’t let a pothead comedian and a knuckle-dragging UFC fighter tell you what the Talmud says. If you want to learn what the Talmud actually teaches, just read it. Or ask a rabbi.
